    How do I get a question answered about a particular person who I believe was a Calgary Stampeder in the mid to late ’70s? THis person appeared in Honcho Magazine in June 1978.

      You are likely looking for Blaine Lamoureux, a Stampeder whose photos appeared in a magazine called Playgay Canada in 1978, and made news headlines here. – Kevin

        Thanks, Kevin. Do you know if he was/is gay? Do you know if he is still alive? I found a Facebook page for someone of the same name who resembled the younger Blain. He would be in his early 70’s now, I think. Is there a way to access the Playgirl Canada magazine? I have the pages from the Honcho Magazine, so I know he appeared in it in June 1978.

        Humor me, please. I enjoy playing detective and I hope you will, too.

My name is Serena Moar, and I am a fourth-year student at the University of Calgary completing my Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Sexuality Studies. This year, for one of my final projects, I have taken some inspiration from your INCREDIBLE book and would like to learn/share more about Calgary’s Gay History from the 2000s onwards. I was wondering if you’d be able to share some more information with me about Calgary’s history throughout the 2000s. I have selected a few pivotal moments to write about but would love to hear more from you.

    My name is Jason Brooks. I am a Third Year Policy Studies student at Mount Royal University. I am pursuing an honours thesis focusing on the topic of the development of queer public policy in Alberta, currently considering a time frame from 1950-2000. I am mostly following this through a development of representation of the community in media/political platforms. I am hoping you would be willing to give me some suggestions of databases or suggestions to narrow my focus? Regardless, it would be wonderful to converse with you, Our Past Matters has been a big motivator for my project!

    I have pictures of the first coronation ball Emperor Jack and Empress Veronica Dawn. I see they have both passed away sometime ago. We were good friends and I’m still her to talk about it Should I scan them and send to you ?
