A Queer Map: The Calgary Atlas Project
Historian Kevin Allen and artist Mark Clintberg collaborated on the first published map of the Calgary Atlas Project: an art project by the Calgary Institute for the Humanities at the University of Calgary. The map launched November 21, 2019. The map can be purchased at several independent bookstores in the city.
A community project in 2017 & 2018 that crowdsourced queer historical sites and produced two online maps: CALGARY’S TOP 10 LGBTQ2S+ PLACES and A story map of YYC’s LGBTQ2S+ spaces & stories. The long-term goal of the project is to create a queer history commemoration space in Calgary.
Calgary Gay History
